When I was realizing the results Shirley and her ‘A Team’ could accomplish, additionally we remodeled two bathrooms, a master bath, converted a small bedroom to a full walk-in custom closet, more recessed lighting in four rooms, accent lighting for art in two rooms, remodeling/accent lighting for a bar, plus painting in six rooms. I called
Shirley Hammond because of recommendations and reputation. Our project
included modifications that required spatial, design talents in addition
to exceptional taste in cosmetic decoration. We began with a list of our
priorities from which Shirley developed design drawings. We were given
options and opportunities to shop for our own preferences. We were told
that throughout this project, that we were in control of the various
decisions. The communications were prompt and the follow through
flawless.
When the inevitable,
unforeseen construction issues arose, they were
communicated and conquered. The construction “A-Team” was always
professional,
but also became part of our family as we lived together
for several months on a daily basis. I have since used several of these
professionals for other needs as they are tops! Remodeling
projects require the patience of Job, but the final outcome has been
more

We were so excited to see our beautiful kitchen and dining room on this
website. Shirley is the most talented registered interior designer I
have ever worked with, especially when it comes to kitchens. Her
understanding of space is beyond belief. The whole time we were working
on this project, I couldn't quite grasp how this was going to turn out,
but as you can see it is wonderful. Now if I could only get my counter
space to look that clean and uncluttered again it would be great!

| When we were building our house the
space for the kitchen was narrow and was included in an open floor plan.
The kitchen required a well
planned and thoughtful design. Shirley Hammond accomplished that and
much more. She found the modern design cabinetry we wanted. Shirley made
sure each drawer, door, and shelving was placed with function and
practicality. Her knowledge and attention to detail is priceless.
Shirley's expectation of quality design began with our initial

Shirley Hammond (Perceptive Designs) successfully remodeled our historic
home kitchen in 1995. Now as repeat customers, she has enhanced our
downsizing to a retirement townhome. Shirley's attention
to detail and her expertise in making smaller spaces more livable was
especially helpful. She focused on improving the kitchen and great room
areas by expanding each to outdoor landscaped patios, giving an open,
breezy, beachside atmosphere. Improvements included a custom
entertainment center, decorative
staircase, new kitchen, additional pantry space from a closet, recessed
lighting, new flooring, additional file space, and coordinated paint
colors for rooms and baths. Shirley also recommended furniture placement

Our
project included remodeling a kitchen, master bath and hall bath and
updating flooring on the entire main floor. Our kitchen was small and
lacked workable counter space and storage. Our master bath was also
small and outdated. Shirley designed a plan that opened up the kitchen
to the adjoining living and dining rooms and enabled us to have a large
island. We are amazed at the amount of counter space and great storage
we now have in our beautiful new kitchen. In the baths, Shirley
designed a larger master bath with lots of outside light and access to
the adjoining screened porch. The hall bath gave up space to the master
bath but is now an efficient bath with lots of storage and much more
useful space. Shirley was great to work with throughout the entire
process. She guided us through the entire process recommending reliable
vendors and assisting us in making selections along the way. She
understood the look we were trying to achieve and helped us stay true to
this in the selections we made along the way. Our completed project is
more than we expected to achieve in functionality and beauty.

| When we decided to remodel our kitchen, we wanted to make sure that we got it right. So with that in mind we called Shirley Hammond to help us plan the space. It is so important to have a professional helping place the appliances, having the cabinets functional, getting the lighting in the right places and using the space to the best advantage for our lifestyle. The planning before we started helped make this project go smoothly and Shirley was perfect on that. Shirley thought of so many things that I would have never thought of doing and she was always available throughout the project for any last minute decisions we needed to make.
